Chapter 17 — Understanding

The scriptures. The theories. The wars over who held the truth. The dogmas. The rituals. The intermediaries who placed themselves between the human being and what it was searching for.

All of it was just the long road of a species that hadn't yet learned something simple: to look at another and recognize itself.

Nothing more than that was ever needed. It never was.

The whole embrace. The true listening. The daily choice to care — even when no one is watching.

Every choice repeated with consistency, day after day, becomes something deeper: it becomes who you are.
