Chapter 14 — Purity
The love of animals isn't built on promises, nor sustained by invisible contracts. It's born from companionship, from trust, from bond. In it, there is no agenda — only transparency. And so they teach us that love isn't a speech. It's a state of being.
They don't love us
for our titles,
nor for our certainties,
nor for the image
we project to the world.
They don't know
what we've accumulated.
What we've achieved.
What we defend.
They don't know
our masks —
and maybe that's why
they see us
more whole
than we see ourselves.
