Chapter 01 — Curiosity

Religions that, in practice, demanded blind faith. Science that denied purpose. Spirituality that offered poetry instead of precision. Each path carried a piece of the truth. But none held the whole picture.

She looked in churches.
In Afro-Brazilian temples.
In mosques.
In Buddhist temples.
In spiritist centers.
In ayahuasca circles.
In the books of Hawking, Sagan, and Dawkins.

On every path, she found something real:
genuine people, sincere faith, true devotion.

Science explained the how,
but avoided the why.
Religion offered the why,
but without a logic for the how.

Each path carried a fragment of the truth.
But none revealed the whole.

in a way that made sense
to the heart
and to reason.

Lira still hadn't found the answers.
But she hadn't stopped looking, either.
